Door Stays

could anyone tell me if gal front doors stay open as my two rear doors do but front doors dont, looked at door stays and cant see how they work any ideas on how to fix this problem as i had to jam door open with lump of wood to repair my gaiter wires recently and is a bit of a pain.

sounds like the door check straps have failed! easy job to replace, door cards off, cut the cable tie, remove the rubber shroud, two bolts inside the door and one on the A post :rolleyes: dab of grease to stop the squeek and you done

That is well freaky i am new here and the first post i look at i have nearly

the same problem.I have just sold a renault espace m plate and brought

a r plated 2.0 galaxy and my rear doors will not stay open !

are they as easy to replace as the front ones?

are all these vw fords seats the same?

yes, just as easy as the fronts :rolleyes: on both doors the bolts that hold the check strap in place are on the door next to the A/B post but you need access to the inside of the door as the check strap is located inside the door!
