trialuser Posted May 3, 2007 Report Posted May 3, 2007 Hi - does anyone know the procedure a dealer goes thru when trying to source a new car. I think I am being given the runaround for some reason. I negotiated what I thought was a good deal for a new galaxy ghia diesel (bestpricecar.com) - they looked (or pretended to) at their computer and said the only models available in the whole country and about to come off the line had leather seats. I said I would not pay extra for this but would be prepared to put up with it if that was all they could find. so they looked on their computer again and magically found one without leather but if I wanted the colour of my choice it would have to have a panoramic roof. I reluctantly agreed to meet them half way for the roof because they could source the car within a week and a factory order would be 12 - 16 weeks! They now say that the car I have bought (paid deposit), which they told me was in a holding compound (and later assured me it was 'compound out' on its way to me, will not be available until some time next month - but they don't know when. ( I was expecting them to receive the car 2 weeks ago.) I just want a 2L ghia diesel, pref sea grey or failing that a silver or black. Is it reall that hard to source the cars or are they messing me around for whatever reason. Whatever - they should not make contracts they can't fulfill or deceive customers. I'll persevere fo a bit to sort it out - any one recommend any other dealers.Thankspeed off in oxford Quote
