Deano165 Posted April 26, 2007 Report Posted April 26, 2007 Hi all, Just joined this forum as i have a small problem with my Gal and hope someone can help. I have a 1998 2.3 GLX model and the handbrake warning light on the dashboard comes on when you reach around 15 mph and won't go out untill you switch the engine off then on again. Could it be the brake switch? Many thanks Deano. Quote
big_kev Posted April 26, 2007 Report Posted April 26, 2007 It is not just the Handbrake Light it also indicates failure of one or both of your brake circuits. Advise to have your brakes checked immediately before driving the car again. Quote
Neils TDi again Posted April 27, 2007 Report Posted April 27, 2007 The warning symbol if it illuminates after about 10 mph then it is most likely to be a wear indicator on the rear brake pads. Might pay to have them checked for wear before too much panic sets in. Quote
big_kev Posted April 27, 2007 Report Posted April 27, 2007 Totally agree with Neil..... Deano.........Red lights mean do not drive.......get it checked Quote
