The Gal Has Gone !

Well, I swapped the Gal for an S-Max this morning. After lots of tears and caresses I gave them my Gal and promptly forgot all about it. First impressions of the S-Max (I went for thr 1.8 TDCI Zetec)

are it feels a lot smoother and faster than the Gal (1.9 TDCI) and I almost had to stop and get to check if they had given me a diesel as it was that smooth. Acceleration is smoother and faster and the ride is very comftable. I picked it up at MotorsCoalville in Leicestershire and drove back to Stevenage so gave it a good run.

The things I will miss, and do already, is cruise control, parking sensors and the rear pricy glass, none of which are standard on the Zetec model. I have just ordered some parking sensors from Ebay and will look to get the glass tinted professionally but have no idea whether its possible or even worth the hassle to get cruise control again.

Apart from those 3 things, every else is now standard on the Zetec's i.e. Heated door mirrors, electric windows all round etc.

 

The wife tried getting in and out of the third row of seats the other day in the showroom and she did manage ok even though its a tad smaller than the Gal but overall am very pleased so far and time will tell.
