tim-spam Posted April 23, 2007 Report Posted April 23, 2007 MAF's tend to start failing at a 60,000+ miles. Cheap (around Quote

Scorpiorefugee Posted May 13, 2007 Report Posted May 13, 2007 Go for it mate! There's loads of good deals on Ebay. You can get just the insert bit - used to be about Quote
bluenosebryan Posted May 24, 2007 Report Posted May 24, 2007 hi everyone,if its a good second hand maf your after go on ebay but dont look in galaxys ,look in ford escorts or mondeo because they all have the same part number 93bb-12b579-ba for a fraction of the cost you would pay if looking on the galaxy spares, hope this helps anyone.... mumof4 Posted May 24, 2007 Report Posted May 24, 2007 second hand MAF?? You can buy new ones on there..i did i bought a Bosch one from on there.Didnt cost the earth either...and they are in the galaxy section and there are different types of MAFs for different years/diesel/petrol/......so quoteing one part number..it may be incorrect for the MAF that you need! So i disagree with you there BNB.they dont all have the same part number..a pierberg wont have the same number as a Bosch one will it? Quote
Smilge Posted May 24, 2007 Report Posted May 24, 2007 Totally agree Mum ...... even the Bosch ones for a Galaxy will have different part numbers depending on the modification state as I found out a few months back. Quote
bluenosebryan Posted May 24, 2007 Report Posted May 24, 2007 (edited) no i agree with what you are saying but i should of posted that i took my part number and compared it to the ones on sale in ebay of the mondeos and escorts and hey presto same number so i presume its the same part ;) Here Edited May 24, 2007 by bluenosebryan Quote
Smilge Posted May 24, 2007 Report Posted May 24, 2007 To be honest Bryan you're better off staying away from the cheaper ones .... http://www.airmassmeters.com/ Quote

mumof4 Posted May 24, 2007 Report Posted May 24, 2007 Good link Bleeno.....BNB..that MAF looks nothing like mine.Though i dont expect it to as it isnt for my model Gal. Quote
