As some of you may realise there was an option of a digital clock (roof mounted) that would also control/ act as a timer for the aux heater has anyone got this option?? has anyone try retro fitting it? has anyone dropped the headlining do they know if the wiring loom is there for it ?

basically i'm thinking about doing this to mine ive got the vw part no's for the clock

7m3 919 203 ----- digital clock with heater pre selection switch or

7m3 919 203d ----digital clock with heater pre selection switch for modelswith side or curtain airbags

5/02 y20 pearl grey

5/02 8ys light beige

but im not sure if theres another control unit for itor wether anyone has seen vag-com info on turning on a particular sector

IIRC you need an additional battery and other gubbins under the front passenger seat.

ISTR Ivor E tower having that set up? Not sure about that though

I am not sure which Planet Decappo is on :)

not a bad description of how to fit the digital clock to the Mk2, for those with the freaking ugly and totally pointless oval clock stuck in the middle of the dash this is a great write up :)

clock seems easy enough, its connecting it to the aux heater im interested in would be realy handy next winter when i leave for work @5.30 am to get in a way defrosted car rather than a block of ice. in fact if i can get it working i wont bother putting it in the roof if i dont need to, thought i'd cut it into rear of glovebox, not bothered at all by the clock part just the timer on the heater Edited by whitty

Hi again.

I would take note of Dave's suggestion.....

I am aware of that, but as far as I knew, he asked about fitting the clock, not the heater :) :D :D
