Here is a question for any auto electricians out there.

I have a PDA based Sat NAv system but was thinking of changing to a Tom Tom or Garmin unit.

Does anybody know if it would be possible to take a feed from the audio out socket on the sat nav and plumb it in to the auto mute cabling on a handsfree car kit so that the voice directions muted the radio and came out from the vehicle speakers?

Any tips would be welcome.

THanks

What PDA do you have?

I know nothing about ICE...but i do know that once on my travels, a car pulled up alongside me and i thought the bloke was talking to himself till i realised he was listening to someone through his speakers!..so it must be possible somehow.

Steve67 is the best to answer this one i think.

You can use the 3.5mm output from a tomtom and plug it into a stereo with ipod/mp3 player input, but you will have to select ipod/mp3 input on the stereo which will only let you hear the tomtom and not mute the music.
