Martin L Posted April 20, 2007 Report Posted April 20, 2007 The handbrake 'on' warning light on my Mondeo only seems to come on sometimes, it would appear to me that the handbrake light switch is packing up but I can't seem to find any referance as to where it is. Does anyone know about this? The dash light for brake system check light always comes on when I turn the ignition on so it's not the bulb in the dash. Thank for any help on this. Quote
stozzy Posted May 10, 2007 Report Posted May 10, 2007 Hi Martin- have you sorted out your handbrake light switch now? If not you have to take out the centre console by means of 2 screws in the centre arm rest/tape storage compartment and 2 behind the ashtray. The light switch is held on the ratchet by a 8mm bolt (or phillips driver if you have one small enough to get it in). he mk1 is the same iirc so are the mk5,6,7 escorts. Pm me if you need any more help Quote
Martin L Posted May 21, 2007 Author Report Posted May 21, 2007 I haven't sorted it yet, it's still intermitent. At least I know where to find the switch now. I'm wondering if it's a lose connection or a sticky switch, I've got some switch cleaner here somewhere. Thanks for the help. Quote
