Guest gazzax1x Posted April 18, 2007 Report Posted April 18, 2007 Hope someone can help or give me some advice, I have a 03 plate Mondeo 2.0 LX and over the last few weeks the alarm has been self activating for no apparent reason, I have tried locking the doors with the key rather than the remote key fob, I have also tried parking in a different place and re-programming the locking as per the handbook non of this has worked and over the last couple of days it has got worse, whilst typing this it has gone of at least 10 times. Is their anything I can do other than paying a Ford dealer Quote
tiny Posted April 19, 2007 Report Posted April 19, 2007 Try cleaning the bonnet switch, ive heard it can be a common alarm activation problem, not mondeo specific though.Do all your door switches work correctly (ie- do they all put the interior lights on independantly of each other?) Quote
Guest gazzax1x Posted May 1, 2007 Report Posted May 1, 2007 Thanks for the advice, I have tried the bonnet switch still no difference and tried the door switches and they all turn the interior lights on independantly. Anything elese i could try????? Quote
Neils TDi again Posted May 1, 2007 Report Posted May 1, 2007 Do you have any aftermarket electyrical items fitted to the car ? Anything which can potentially absorb current after the ignition is switched off will have the ability to cause the alarm to activate. Even teh boot switch can cause an activation, the contacts i believe are pads in the edge of the boot. Even such an inoquuous item such as a Sat NAv can cause the activation as it changes current draw when it goes into sleep mode. Good luck. Quote
Smilge Posted May 1, 2007 Report Posted May 1, 2007 Bet you got some little insects in there somewhere activating the ultra sonic motion sensors ..... quite common this time of year when all the beasties come out to sun bathe ..... :D Quote
Guest gazzax1x Posted May 2, 2007 Report Posted May 2, 2007 Thanks for all the advice and tips of what to try, I have had a CD multi changer fitted so have taken it back the guy who fitted it for me and he has done something with the wiring and it hasn't gone off since then so fingers crossed this has solved it I hope as well as the neighbours. Thanks once again. ^_^ Quote
