What Is The Top Speed Of A V6?

just curious. if i get anymore points on my license I will be joining the million+ people on 9 points driving around with their eyes glued to the speedo.

last time I checked, parkers put the topspeed at 120 odd.. (around the same as the 2.3... less even iirc)

I cant see how it would get there tbh..whining and moaning at 110..

edit: ofcourse I dont mean top speed, just the usual 0-40, 30-50, that kinda speed. HAXerlation

The VR6 gets up to around 135mph..............then it runs out of fuel

Quite often push it up to 110 - 115 and it drives very nicely. Once took it to 130 in the early hours but only got 8 mpg.

I once got my 2.3 up to 120mph on the A1(m)south of Durham. I'd been having a bad day when i came across this d;head in a Mk3 cavaler 1.8 doing 60 in the offside lane who wasn't going to move, he decided to put his foot down and managed to get it up to 110 (i knew the max for these was about 110, i traded in a 1.8 cavalier for the gal), the look on his face as i passed him on the inside doing 120 still puts a smile on my face today.

 

Ps i have mellowed my driving speeds, most of the time the gal gets treat like a hearse

I use to drive back on the motorway at night doing a steady 110 and it was smooth add another 15mph and it did not feel happy, if I drove it at 90mph I was still getting 20mpg.
