mumof4 Posted April 7, 2007 Report Posted April 7, 2007 Have you tried search?as im sure this cropped up a few months ago.....sorry but cant remember who posted about it. Quote
chromedome Posted April 7, 2007 Report Posted April 7, 2007 Don't rely on this as the answer, as informed by my Ford dealer mechanic...........actually he is very good and helpful. Most alarm problems like this are caused by the bonnet switch. As you drive along the bonnet moves up and down very slightly because of the air flow. This movement keeps operating the switch thus making it wear out. A new switch normally resolves the problem. richyrich Posted April 9, 2007 Report Posted April 9, 2007 hiya not sure if this is in the right bit but here goes  my alarm keeps going off at various times of the day or night and once it starts it carries on once reset it will go off again and again ive checked all doors windows no moving air freshners cant think what it could be i did a vag scan all it come up with was fault- 00955 09-10 adaption limit surpressed any one got any ideas of what to do next or possible problem many thanks you great people :DMy same problem was caused by the sensors in the pillars behind the the 2 front seats. It's very easy to disconnect them or replace(fraud). The seat belt bolts need to be undone for this Quote
roly1977 Posted April 10, 2007 Author Report Posted April 10, 2007 does anyone one know if vag com will pick up any sensor errors many thanks so far james Quote
Guest Rockdoctor Posted April 11, 2007 Report Posted April 11, 2007 My Mondeo had the same problem. The solution was to replace the bonnet switch - it faces all the weather and driven rain at high speeds, and inevitably moisture gets into it, despite the rubber cover. I even got a temporary cure by just cleaning all the contacts and spraying WD40 all over it. I also heard that the next most likely cause was the internal sensors on the pillars - apparenly tiny spiders can get inside and spin webs over the sensors and screw them up (not sure I believe that one!).
