santefe999 Posted March 31, 2007 Report Posted March 31, 2007 Right, well this is a story of several parts. Firstly, the passenger footwell on my Mk 2 is waterlogged. It is NOT the rear wash pipe and I don't believe its the pollen filter. I have also cleared the drains and can confirm that the water runs away correctly. I suspect the windscreen so I am having that checked out. However, having removed the front passenger seat to get at everything meant I had to disconnect the front passenger seat electrics under the seat, The connector for the airbag situated in the side of the seat unclipped fairly easily. but, on refitting everything, the dash now tells me that there is an airbag fault. The warning light in the centre of the rev counter dial initially goes out but then comes back on and stays on. I am rapidly losing all faith and the will to live! Do the airbag electrics have to be reset and, if so, must I really have to endure the sychophantic little man at you know where? Quote
mumof4 Posted March 31, 2007 Report Posted March 31, 2007 try disconnecting the battery for a bit to see if that will clear it.just remember to know your keycode for your head unit. Quote
santefe999 Posted April 2, 2007 Author Report Posted April 2, 2007 Tried mumof4's suggestion but, sadly, no luck. Many thanks though, it could have worked. After several phone calls I have established that it is a VagCom re-set job. However, I was just wondering if anyone knows of any alternative method to re-set tha airbarg warning light that does not require me visiting "the robbers down the road". Why is nothing simple these days!!! Quote
mumof4 Posted April 2, 2007 Report Posted April 2, 2007 Could always ask if someone on here might be able to do it for you?May involve a bit of travel but cheaper than getting fords etc to reset it. Quote
Smilge Posted April 2, 2007 Report Posted April 2, 2007 (edited) I did have a similar problem once ...... took it to the dealers ........ "did it happen when the Mrs was driving?" ...... " Yes and its stayed on ever since" ....... "well you have a Ghia and its nothing to do with the airbag" ................ Its the OLDBAG warning light to tell you she's been driving it!!!! :D :D Edited April 2, 2007 by Bleeno Quote
