TOM65 Posted March 22, 2007 Report Posted March 22, 2007 Hello again while i'm here i've got another question. Does anyone know if this is a central locking module fault or a door handle fault. On my 1996 Galaxy 2.0 GLX Auto Mark 1 when i closed the doors and the central locking kicks in a curious thing happens. The rear passenger door closes then unlocks, closes then unlocks again leaving me to lock it manually. All the other doors lock fine. This happens everytime. Do these doors have individual senors?Anyone got any ideas? Quote
gregers Posted March 22, 2007 Report Posted March 22, 2007 mmm wonder if its the old problem of the wires in the rear hatch breaking down, open up the hatch and look up and right. Quote

morticiaskeeper Posted March 23, 2007 Report Posted March 23, 2007 Mine had thatfault and we traced it to the door lock motor. Running the motor with the cover off, I could see it almost getting there, then coming back again. Got a motor from the scrappy for a tenner. A lot of Mondeo motors are the same, get an old one with a lock and swap the locks. Quote

burundi Posted June 27, 2007 Report Posted June 27, 2007 Did you find your answer Tom, mine is doing the same thing on the nearside rear passenger door, lock and unlocks then locks and unlocks again. Was it a latch spring? Mine locks ok if I open and close the affected door and then lock the car again without doing an unlock first. It is consistent, not erratic. Quote
Philwalfc Posted June 27, 2007 Report Posted June 27, 2007 Hi Tom. I had this problem a while back. I found it was the central locking motor. I actually transfered the faulty motor from the nearside door to the offside door to check it, and found the fault had transered to the other door. I replaced with a new motor and it worked fine. Phil. Quote
burundi Posted June 28, 2007 Report Posted June 28, 2007 I might give that a try, I wasn't sure if the motors were door specific or a generic item. I presume the locking mechanism is specific to the particular door location. If it is a knackered central locking motor unit has anyone got a part number or the mark of mondeo I could get one from? CheersBurundi. Quote
Philwalfc Posted June 28, 2007 Report Posted June 28, 2007 I think it is Finnis part number 7017151. Hope that helps. Quote
