bigdaddy Posted March 22, 2007 Report Posted March 22, 2007 I was there last october, and it was great, when you come out of the calais ferry port go straight onto the motorway and follow the signs for paris, then the signs to disney, IIRC the tolls were about 16.50 euros to paris and about 4 euros to disney, allow about 4 to 5 hrs to disney from the ferry port, and keep to the speed limits, the french police dont like speedersOn the big rides they automaticly take your photo, and if you wish you can purchase them outside of the rides, started at 15 euros2 to 3 days is plenty to see everything, spend a day in paris up the effiel tower, superb,,,,,,,, we had a picnic on the 2nd level, great have fun and enjoy yourself, :) P.S. if you go on the aerosmith ride (adults only lol) its dark, you cant see were you are going upside down, loop the loop,,,,,,,,,, great stuff Quote
bigdaddy Posted March 22, 2007 Report Posted March 22, 2007 Forgot to say take a portable dvd player (if you dont have screens and dvd fitted) the kids will enjoy something to watch and the wife will love you for it,,,, silence is golden,,,as they say :) Quote
bingo nightly Posted March 22, 2007 Report Posted March 22, 2007 Its a great place to go as long as you go with the right attitude, I.E. with the intention of having escapist fun and not allowing yourself to be cynical. My family loved it when we went, and we hope to return later this year. It really is a magical place for kids, and half the enjoyment for me was watching there faces as we wandered round. It does get very busy and so be prepared to queue up for a long time. The more popular rides have a priority ticket system where you can get a ticket and it gives you a time to return, at which point you can walk straight in, so its worth getting a bit organised to avoid the wait.Have fun. mikeohope Posted March 22, 2007 Report Posted March 22, 2007 It is fantastic, we went their two years ago at Xmas. Very cold but kids (3 & 1 and a bit) loved it. Now have another kid and the 1 and a bit one is now three so time to shift off there again. Thinking about later in the year. I also went when it first opened and it had no atmosphere but now I think it can match Florida as far as the Magic Kingdom is concerned. Doesn't have all the other attractions that Orlando has but for a 2/3 day trip you don't need it. Staff are good, shows are great. You'll have a good time. Don't be worried about eating in the cafes in the aracade just outside the park, we did and found it very reasonable and in the evening the tables are vsiisted by characters. Kids faces are a picture. Quote
Big Tyke Posted March 22, 2007 Report Posted March 22, 2007 forget the kids, leave them at home!!!!!! Disneyland is for us even bigger kids, been to both studio and main park. the studio is only a half day but 2 new rides for this year. the main park was fantastic but you really should get there for it opening. as said it does fill up very quickly. One thing we noticed was that europeans have a longer dinnertime than us so use it to your advantage. they tend to have dinner from 12 ish til 2 so head for the more popular rides then. try not to be the typical brit when it comes to queuing they (Europeans) didn`t like to stand and wait like us so think nothing of wandering into a queue let them know it`s not done to push in. the priority tickets memtioned are great get them at every chance you can. but all in all go back to your childhood and enjoy yourself Quote
El Dingo Posted March 22, 2007 Report Posted March 22, 2007 We liked the Studios too. And Planet Hollywood after 9pm when they turned the music up. Quote
jkspoff Posted March 22, 2007 Report Posted March 22, 2007 (edited) We've booked for June this year, taking our 2 young kids, they ask every single day when we are going. Wish I hadn't mentioned it until the day before ! Booked in at the Disney hotel which looks like its fairly central to it all. Will look forward to that ride in the dark for me. Edited March 22, 2007 by jkspoff Quote
