Guest andy1970 Posted March 16, 2007 Report Posted March 16, 2007 hi all.could anyone help please we have recentley purchased a galaxy and are having problems with it the first problem is when the car is started in the morning from cold as we go to pull off it cuts out.it then starts again and once the engine is warm it doesnt cut out again.it is also very sluggish when pulling away in low gears its as if you have to press the pedal down half way before the power picks up.its ok on higher speeds.frauds said its a quirk of the mark 2 galaxy and they couldnt find anything wrong with it.the second problem is the steering wheel judders when driving along.the car has had 2 new tyres when we bought it.the car is going back into frauds on thursday to be checked out.i havent got a clue and would very much appreciate youre views on what the problems could be as you lot seem to me to know more about the galaxy than the fraud technicians.we had a mark 1 galaxy 1.9tdi and the performance was excellent.our new car has done 40,000 miles.i would just like to ask fords to check what ever you think the causes may be.thanks again and really could do with youre advise. andy Quote
NikpV Posted March 16, 2007 Report Posted March 16, 2007 (edited) said its a quirk of the mark 2 galaxy umm this is not a characteristic of the mk2 diesel wonder about a temp sensor telling porkies to the ecu and so getting the mixture wrong in the cold! (bit like the fraud techs telling porkies to you ) btw welcome to the forum get them to check the freewheel pulley on the alternator !! might cause your shudder !, and while your at it worth unplugging the maf and checking how it drives then - huge difference = its ok little difference = replace it (40K is a tadge early though) Edited March 16, 2007 by NikpV Quote
