philneo Posted March 16, 2007 Report Posted March 16, 2007 Just wanted to say Hi. I have been 'lurking' for a while now gathering loads of useful information - so thanks for all your help so far. I live in Bexley Kent, and own a 2003 Seat Alhambra SE 1.9TDI 130 and to date have been extremely pleased with it. Your site has helped me to sucessfully identify some failed drop links which I got changed under warranty, and also explained the Jet Engine noise that so many newbies seem to query! The "Check Brake Pads" light has just come on and looking at them, it is the rears that need changing. Doing the usual ringing round, Seat would charge Quote

philneo Posted March 19, 2007 Author Report Posted March 19, 2007 Thanks for the welcome! It's funny - having mentioned the "Check Brake Pads" warning appearing, it didn't appear all weekend! Does this mean that a) they are getting close to wearing down to the sensor but not quite there yet? something 'shorted' the sensor out momentarily?c) I imagined the whole thing - the car just wants me to spend money unneccessarily! I had a look at the pads and can definitely see they are quite thin so I suspect a) :( ! Quote
