Ford 6000cd Problem

Hi there, I have a ford 6000cd fitted to my explorer which developed a fault where u could turn it on and off and listen to one station ok, but none of the radios controls(push buttons) functioned, meaning that you couldnt tune it or alter the base and treble ect..

I took it out to look for anything obvious but now I've reconnected it the buttons still dont work so i cant input the code!

Any ideas (apart from buy a new one) mucho appreciated.

hi are you saying buttons 1 and 6 work if so clean the contacts up on removable button panel,(we have also had a few where panel not seated properly.).

or unless its still covered under warranty... remove top cover , the front of the radio communicates to the rest via a plug and socket ,it may have partially come adrift. sometimes if the unit appears frozen ie wont alter on any button, it may require to be unplugged and allowed to rest (ford terms not mine)for a couple of hours.. micro locks up.
