vRS Binz Posted March 13, 2007 Report Posted March 13, 2007 Hi Forum, Hope someone may be able to offer some advice. I have a 2.3 Zetec Gal 51 plate. 50k and regular serviceOn damp mornings the old girl appears to miss a little bit, however that soon clears but in normal day to day running the brat bus runs as if its holdng back, slightly sluggish and sometimes a bit jerky. You can put your foot down and it feels like she doesn't want to respond.I've got gendan engine management software to check for any fault codes - none. I can record the engine doing various bits and pieces like air sensor voltage/ MAF and stuff like that, I'm not sure what to check for so I'm looking for advice 3 fold1. Any ideas as to the reluctant brat bus2. What data would be best data to look at on the management software? (can be downloaded to csv/ excel format)3. I wondered if any of the members of the forum might be able to cast a knowing eye over the results to say "a-hah, theres ya problem  " Thanks to you all in advance Quote
Andrew T Posted March 13, 2007 Report Posted March 13, 2007 Could be Coil Packs or HT leads(especially if it's worse on damp mornings). MAF can deteriorate, but it's a different beastie to the Diesel item and can suposedly be cleaned. Stating the obvious perhaps but have the spark plugs been changed ? (every 40K). Less likely perhaps, but the Throttle Body can gunge up - more likely to cause erratic idling than missing. Has that given you something to be going on with ? Quote

Got a receipt from ford detailing the work and cost, will be sending it to tesco tomorrow .Tesco say they will reimburse anyone affected ,should be the same for morissons? Was told by ford that only galaxys are affected.I suggest you get ford to do a computer inspection. midhertsgalaxy Posted March 23, 2007 Report Posted March 23, 2007 Sounds just like the problems I had (1 march). just thought I'd let you know, I received my cheque from Tesco this morning. Full Re imbursment of parts and labour for my new Oxygen Sensor and also for the cost of the tank full of petrol that I had used up. RESULT Quote
