mumble_bee Posted March 9, 2007 Report Posted March 9, 2007 hi all, there's this fun game I'm playing nowadays... its kinda like AGE of Empires meets simcity... If you wanna have a look the game is called travian and can be found here <click me> It is not at all resource intensive as it is browser based, and is not particularly time consuming either.. personally I log in about 5 times a day for a maximum of 5 minutes.. (although initially it might take a little longer just to get to grips with it).. saying that I've only been playing it 3 days. Quote

Guest wolfie Posted May 14, 2007 Report Posted May 14, 2007 (edited) well my drafted reply to his threat involves the questional origin of his father and did his mother give groups discounts ;) but I'm holding back on sending it as I'm seeing if I can start a trade agreement with my bigger neighbour who's in a real big alliance! and they can kick ass! ;) Edited May 14, 2007 by wolfie Quote
mumble_bee Posted May 15, 2007 Author Report Posted May 15, 2007 damn I forgot to update you guys on this... I played for a couple of weeks...it started off takin no time at all...then slowly more and more timeuntil I was totally hooked...I had 250 population with 500 armed forces.. (I was more military oriented)... then I realised I had to leave the game for my sanity... so I attacked ppl with 300-500 population.. thinking they wouldbeat me up... and I could leave happily..I quickly realised that most ppl have a population to army ration of greater than 1:1...so I then go even more hooked.. because I was beating up SERIOUSLY big guys.... eventually I went cold turkey and deleted my account... if you want to continue playing heres a tip: when you see a newbie with 2 population that you arent able to attack.. make a note of when their protection runs out.. and send 80 legionnaires.. or equivalent 800 carrying resource troops to collect their goodies, the second it runs out..because these are dormant accounts...I used to yield thousands and thousands of resources from different dormants..daily you can pay up if you want.. but he cant guarantee other bullies wont beat you up..as a rule send your army off to fight FAAAR away when you're not around and set them to return when you expect to come back...thats another reason I quit.. I realised this damn game was dictating my life.... remember unless they have catapults they cant do any damage to your village.. just your army. also if you want to attack a gaul.. guess his trap number.. then send 2 attacks at him.. eg: if he has pop 100, he would have between 20-70 traps...send say 100 troops on a raid, followed by maybe 20 on a normal attack... 10 seconds laterthis gets all his resources and destroys his traps, as well as frees all your men that were trapped in the raid... oh I can go on and on......
