Hi, I need advice on correct tyre size for a Seat Alhambra. I know this is a galaxy forum but any advice would be really helpfull. I have just taken my Seat for a full service to the local garage and the old tyres were of various sizes-215x60x15 and 225x60x15. The Seat is S Reg 1.9TDI.What would be the right size and how much should I be paying per tyre. I have been quoted the following prices

Continental 215x60x15

I would go for the Continentals as these were original fitment when the car was made. I have been using them for the last 70,000 miles ( not the same set!!).

Just a comment,

Last time I bought a set of Tyres, I got them from Kwik Fit, however imagine my surprise when I was surfing the net a couple of days later and found that if I had ordered the tyres on-line, I could have got the same tyres from the same depot a tenner each cheaper....

The moral - check on-line and shop around first!!!

If Alhambra is the same as my Sharan, the original equipment size is either; 6 inch steel wheels with 195/60x15 reinforced load rating 95, or 7 inch alloy wheels with 215/60x15 which have a load rating of 95 without being special reinforced ones. I don't know of 225 being fitted as original equipment and I wonder whether they might run too close to the suspension on the inside wall at the front .
