Gteuk Posted March 6, 2007 Report Posted March 6, 2007 In a bid to make this site more streamline I have created an archive site which is read only, address will be given later. So far I have deleted near 20,000 posts from the general section, jokes, and internet & computers section, I can see an improvement on server load as it does not have to look through those records. I will not prune technical until I am sure all links and topics work and are intact., but again this should improve the performance as the archive is of standard construct with no bells and whistles. steve67car Posted March 6, 2007 Report Posted March 6, 2007 to be honest i thought it was quicker today when i logged on but i did not think to much of it ,but my reason for the post was can youy prune the membership down in the archives i noticed when i searched for some one how many members register and view a couple of posts and are never seen or heard of againregards steve  Quote
Gteuk Posted March 6, 2007 Author Report Posted March 6, 2007 I did prune the members last month based on their last login date and having more than 1 post, so far I have deleted over 2000 members based on this and at the end of this month I would estimate another 500 will be pruned. In the archives I will prune a lot of the membership as it is not needed as it is read only. Quote
