philipedjones Posted March 5, 2007 Report Posted March 5, 2007 Hi, I hope someone can help. My wife and I have a 2003 Galaxy 1.9 TDI Ghia which we bought last October. This is the second Galaxy we have had and although we have had the odd problem to sort out, we think they are great cars. The problem we have now is when the rear auxilary heater is on when the car had just been started there is a loud ticking sound from what sounds like behind the front passenger footwell. Does anyone know what it could be? Many thanks, Philip. Quote
tim-spam Posted March 5, 2007 Report Posted March 5, 2007 Metering pump - nothing to worry about as it's part of the normal operation. However, although audible, it's not usually very loud, so it may be worth checking that it's not fouling with anything. Quote
gregers Posted March 5, 2007 Report Posted March 5, 2007 hi phil, same model as mine m8, regards gregers Quote

NikpV Posted March 5, 2007 Report Posted March 5, 2007 (edited) check out the first item in the FAQ (click on the link in my signature) will need resetting with vag-com for certain errors - some don't e.g. glowplug open circuit, get a glowplug (look for martinblackett in members he has a ebay shop which sells them among other places) Edited March 5, 2007 by NikpV Quote
Dave-G Posted March 5, 2007 Report Posted March 5, 2007 Hi steve - Two subjects for you to look through in the FAQ's - both will be far more informative than a tip from one individual mate. Aux Heater Vag Com stuff Quote

Willie Krashitt Posted March 12, 2007 Report Posted March 12, 2007 There is a technical service bulletin about this for all Galaxies built upto Jan 2003 - TSB 55/2003 refers.Basically the 'fix' is to put a new fuel line to the aux heater with some lagging around it and some additional clips. Quote
