2.0l Galaxy Petrol & Lpg

Hi,

I hope someone can help - garages seem to be baffled. My 2.0L petrol Galaxy has done 186K and was converted to LPG at 55K in 2000. It is serviced every 10K by a Ford garage. About a year ago it started to run badly on petrol - it is 100% on LPG. It runs roughly when it starts on petrol. All is well when it automatically switches to LPG at 1500 rpm.

If driven on petrol it will only runs OK whilst accelerating. If you ease off the power appears to die and only comes back on when the throttle is opened wide again. As the power comes back there is a clonk as if the engine is moving violently and off you go again.

Any suggestions would be most welcome,
