2007r & Hands-free Kit

I have a Galaxy GhiaX with 2007R unit.

 

I have now purchased a hands-free kit for the mobile phone.

 

Does anyone know whether the 2007R unit has a car radio muting input? Connected to the hands-free kit it ensures the volume of the ICE does down to a minimum level when the mobile phone rings.

 

If the 2007R does have this facility, can anyone point me to some documentation on the internet or other media?

Not sure about 2007R but I fitted a hands free kit to my 2006R. Couldn't find any info searching on the web but I posted a sketch on this site for the 2006R after I'd fitted it.. See the following link or do a search on this site by "mobile phone".

This thread also gives some handy tips as to how to find which pin is the phone mute (I used a lead with a 1K resistor in-line and progressively dab'd on each pin till I found it).

 

I fitted the Nokia CARK-91 kit. If you have any problems when you come to do it, just post the questions here!

 

PS. Make sure you have the correct antenna/aerial. Different networks use different bands. Panorama antennas Panorama Antennas are very helpful and have a good website.

I once owned a ford si with a 2007 system in it. I could not locate a mute pin and ford were very unhelpful.

 

In the end I fitted an SPDT relay in the circuit. This only cost about a fiver. When the phone rang or I made a call, the power to the 2007 was cut by the relay and soon as the call was over, the power was restored to the unit. This worked very well but the downside was that it reverted to default volumes etc when it came back on again.

 

It is relatively simple to fit. All you need is a permanent live feed, a switched live feed, the mute wire from the handsfree module and the live supply connecting to the unit.

I've got a 2007 RDS, with a Nokia Car kit, it definitely has mute, but I'm sorry, mine was fitted professionally and I wouldn't know which is the mute connection. Not much help I know but it definitely has that facility.

if its any help just fitted a samsung car phone kit to my galaxy 2007r with multichanger and column stalk.

if your is the same on the rear of radio you have a grey like large telephone type connector and in the middle a yellow plug which controls the cd/stalk and next to that a power connector(normal ford).

on the yellow connector on the end next to the large grey connector there is a space for a connector then a grey wire. this space is where you insert a wire for phone muting. i was lucky had a wurth connector kit which had the same connector in it.hope this helps. gary
