Remote Keys Again

hello good people,as some of you know ive just become the proud owner of a gal,sadly the dealer only gave me 1 remote key(2 button type)he says he is trying to track down the other key from the previous owner(yeah right).

so im trying to obtain the right remote for my gal,just seen a few keys advertised on flea bay and wondered if i have to stick to the same make of key i:e mine is a siemens 433.92 mhz swk4 790/97/98,ive seen a vw 1 but its got the code 433MHZ, 730 955 00, 5FA 007 680, G122 296H any help greatly appreciated as always.

 

i have done a search but it didnt seem to answer the question,or im being THICK as usual

ok peeps payed a visit to the vw dealers today and asked about keys(transponder)etc,and was told that basically if i buy a key other then a ford 1 it wont work,something to do with the different programing they all use,mmm dont they all have vag-com?

they said that they cant reprogram a ford,or a skoda or a seat!!!.

 

now surely it doesnt matter whos key i obtain aslong as the code corresponds with my original key?because at some point(when funds allow)i will have to have it reprogrammed to my car anyway.

also poped over to fords to find put how much they would like me to part with my hard earned cash,and the buggers said it needs to be booked in for an hour @

I have bought and succesfully programed a flip blade key from SEAT. Asked for an Alhambra key, but they use this kind of key to many more SEATS and SKODAS (octavia for sure )

just purchased another remote for my gal(a seat 1)off fleabay just need to get a blank for it and get it cut.
