whitty Posted February 27, 2007 Report Posted February 27, 2007 the gold gal was showing an air-con fault (climate controls flashed on start up) plugged vag-com in this morning and reset the fault it was a low air con pessure fault now apparently air con doesn't work unless it 10deg c + outside now its only 6 deg outside at the moment is there anyway to test the aircon ? the display has stoppped flashing but i want to make sure that fault is actually gone !! adjusting parking sensors i know the parking sensors can be adjusted (volume and sensitivity) using vag-com but ............. how? do you have to have a full version of vag com to do it or can you do this with the share war e version plus i recently fitted the genuine ford accesory rear bumper protector strip if anyone wants pictures and part no. then just let me know ! shan't bother posting if no one is interested but it did a good job of hiding the sctratches and looks better than the tacky stainless ones that are available elsewhere Quote
jkspoff Posted February 27, 2007 Report Posted February 27, 2007 Can you post the picture of the above mentioned bumper protection strip please.VAG COM adjustments need the registered version, the shareware only allows testing of connection and fault codes resetting. I may invest it in too very soon. Quote
Ivor_E_Tower Posted February 27, 2007 Report Posted February 27, 2007 The aircon should work if the outside temp is above about 4 deg C, not 10. The system is variable so doesn't provide really chilled air unless the outside/interior is baking. It's too clever by half..... Quote
sanjsanj Posted February 27, 2007 Report Posted February 27, 2007 plus i recently fitted the genuine ford accesory rear bumper protector strip if anyone wants pictures and part no. then just let me know ! shan't bother posting if no one is interested but it did a good job of hiding the sctratches and looks better than the tacky stainless ones that are available elsewherewouldn't mind a piccy!how much was it? did u get it direct from ford?thankssanj Quote

However don't expect any miracles here. Low pressure is just that and will be either due to a genuine leak in the system or a natural reduction in pressure over time. Do you have any information regarding when your system was last re-gassed ( if at all )?? You are indeed correct that the volume can be adjusted in VAG-COM but I'm not too sure about the sensitivity. However I can't remember how I did it!! I remember it saying how you could adjust the tone of both the front and rear speaker. I will try and get a look tomorrow evening and see what I can find. Thanks for the pic of the bumper protector strip. Those aluminium ones on EBAY look shite and although I knew about the Ford item yours is the first car I have seen it on. A trip to the dealer now due! Quote
