Sorry folks the frapper map at present is not visible due to complications of someone changing details.

I have emailed frapper asking them to reinstate the map to its original condition, I have also sent a copy to the person who was administrating it for this site

Does there have to be a case of either here or there but not both?

The www is big enough for more than one forum site. I am a member of several sites in many subjects, each offers slightly different content and each is useful in its own right.

No, you can be a member of both sites. No one has said that at all, its just that some of our members me included are already banned from even looking at the other site which has got a few backs up as they cant understand why.

But i will say this, if you are a member of the other site, you are still welcome on this one.As you said grumpy, the www is a big old place and plenty big enough for both sites.

Can i ask then Maz why a person on here and on the other site was banned when they werent even involved in what went on, and has not said or done anything to upset anyone?

I think you will have to provide more info than that because the only 2 peeps I know are banned both demonstrated enough to provide Glen with evidence to do that (even Paul isn't banned - or wasn't the last time I checked) whilst several members from here are banned before attempting to join/post view in some cases the other site - it seems hardley a comparable situation but then it is to be understood that fledgling enterprises at at the greatest risk given the records in the past (at the success of those attempting them!)

A message from someone on the other site to another forum we get on with and have had a meet with

although

most of the more previlant and long standing members have come across to

our new site. The old site has stood still as just a forum for too long

now and myself and another member James knew that we could serve Galaxy

owners better by offering a true Owner's club instead of just a web forum.

In the same email it stated that maz will probably be joining soon

Also another member tried advertising said site in profile as well as in signature, then has the cheek to complain cos it is in the word filter list, but he says "its ok I got a way around it, I will space it out".

Then same member clears down the frappr map and links it all back to other site with new membership of that site on it, to divert traffic from this site to that one,

Hm yes, there is room for other sites, but I do not expect anybody to get on in life by holding onto others coat tails, I built this site up with hard work and good members, I did not leach off other sites.

If Mr Green is any good at his job he should not need this site, as a web designer and SEO there should be no problems getting ppl to the site.

I have absolutly no interest in the other site as long as people involved in it do not try to dismember this site.

From a personal point of view, it doesnt really bother me whether we have a map or not.

Several sites that I am on have Frapper or similar mapping features and I usually find that people end up so far away from each other that face to face meetings arent easy to achieve, or that there are several people in the same area but the resolution of the map is then not high enough to allow your pin to be put where it ought to go. My wife has a map on her chat forum and the resolution of that is awful.

It relies on people knowing exactly where to point to on the map to be able to place the pin rather than using say the first part of the postcode. Once woman on there stuck the pin in CHINA on her first attempt, second attempt was closer to home but it looks as if it is Stranraer in Scotland, she actually lives in Doncaster!!! Obviously she was taught Geography by the same person who taught MO4

It wont allow multple pins to be in the same place and someone from Bury St Edmunds placed their pin around Ipswich/Colchester but the head of the pin covers Great Yarmouth where we live so the closest my wife could place her pin was approximately Kings Lynn !!! With just three pins for Norfolk/Suffolk it would appear that East Anglia is now no longer available for anyone else!!

Apart from the difficulties of actually joining a map, does anyone ever look at them after the initial "excitement".

Given that we now have the regional forums as well then maybe a thread in each forum where members can say "This is my region" and for those close to a border eg Midland/East Anglia then maybe a "but I have a passport (and Satnav) and can make it to your area" :P

on the subject of the Frappr map I have to say that I would agree with you, its annoying habit of logging you on to a chatroom as soon as you logged in and looked at the map limited my visits somewhat.

I did find however that you could zoom and nudge the pins into the correct position.

My main dismay was felt however when Shane?? took it on himself to remove all the pins of all those members who had bothered to add themselves (far more than for the gti thingy club he was also keen on) presumably in an attempt to gain praise with those on the new site. A typically thoughtless act (sorry speck - who added himself the other day) which I hope, given his day job isn't mirrored there
