Smilge Posted February 23, 2007 Report Posted February 23, 2007 Remember this a while back ...try this traceytrax -- (with a name like that I assume you would like music :( ) http://experts.about.com/q/Car-Radio-Stere...Galaxy-6-cd.htm Quote
Ivor_E_Tower Posted February 23, 2007 Report Posted February 23, 2007 (edited) Noooooo!!!! I get error 5 about once every 18 months....just unplug the wiring multiplug from the CD changer, wait a couple of minutes and then plug it back in. Should fix the problem straight away. I think last time, this is what flattened my battery after the car was unused for 5 days whilst I was away on business Edit - and the link posted above seems to have been hijacked to a suspicious search engine...... traceytrax Posted March 22, 2007 Author Report Posted March 22, 2007 Hi Again! Well i unplugged it and plugged it back in twice(just to be sure) And at first it went to Error 1 & then back to Error 5. So that did not work, could it be that a fuse has gone on the Autochanger? I dont really know alot about it but im trying! There appears to be no power on the Autochanger. Please help!. Many Thanks Quote

maximus Posted April 27, 2007 Report Posted April 27, 2007 Hi, my sutochanger is playing up, it a 1999 GhiaX TDI. The changer takes the CD in but doesn't spin. It looks a bit like a Pioneer unit but not sure, anyone know? What options are there for replacements?I took it out and resoldered some dry joints but to no avail. If I need to get a new one I may change the head unit too, any recomendations for a replacement head unit, I'd like to keep the functionality of the remote stalk. Cheersmaximus Quote
iceni3 Posted October 4, 2007 Report Posted October 4, 2007 My autochanger stopped working too. I took it to bits but could see nothing wrong/I could fix. On reinstalling it, the same error 5 message came up. I decided to try and extract the CD cassette by sliding a thin flat piece of plastic down between the bottom long edge of the cassette (right hand side) and the aperture for it, and then sliding it to the left to push the locking tab over. Next thing I know the unit starts whiring and seemed to reset itself. It now works as normal. Hope this helps someone. Quote
