Guest siroccoman Posted December 10, 2003 Report Posted December 10, 2003 Hi all, new to this site, but figure you may be able to advise me. I have had on order for last 5 months a new Galaxy Ghia Tdi 130. It has today arrived at my dealers. I have now been advised it does not have a 6 disc multichanger as ordered. It does have factory fit Satnav and dvd option. Leather, dual air etc, BUT i wnated a Cd multichanger. Dealer now says that if you have a factory Satnav you cannot have a Multichanger. I feel this is a load of B******s and they just trying to fob m off. Does anyone have any experience of this. Or does anyone know of an aftermarket multichanger or Mp3 multichanger that will work with the factory fit sat nav unit. Thanks Dave Quote
Guest NeilRM Posted December 11, 2003 Report Posted December 11, 2003 Hello, I am new to the site as well (yesterday). I have a Galaxy Ghia 130 with Sat Nav and a 6 disc autochanger. The dealer that I bought the car from was extremely helpful in reviewing the issue and quickly identified that an Autochanger is possible. In fact, if you review the "Audio" menu items you will see that there is a CD option available and seamlessly compatible. The auto change will sit in the rear cubby hole by the off-side rear quarter light. Here is a critical tip - ensure that you have the security code - mine was lost and resulting from a recall that required the battery to be disconnected I am without Sat Nav/Radio and CD Autochanger. Ther system need to be removed and requires either/or both special tools and skills. Hope this helps - happy to point you to the dealer that I used for information. Quote
Guest siroccoman Posted December 11, 2003 Report Posted December 11, 2003 Hi, thanks for that. I had noticed that option on menu screens, but dealer said it was not possible (if it don't come from factory fitted, they don't seem to wnat to know) Do you know what unit is fitted in your Galxy? Is it a genuine Ford or some other make. A part number would be great if you happen to have one. Thanks, Dave. Quote
Guest NeilRM Posted December 11, 2003 Report Posted December 11, 2003 Dave, It is a Sony unit (not sure of the part number as I don't have the car with me). I will check tonight and let you know. I do know that the Ford dealer did not fit the kit themselves but sent it to an audio specialist. No problem Neil. Quote
Tigger Posted December 11, 2003 Report Posted December 11, 2003 I was under the impression that you can get a cd changer where you just keep feeding the CDs into the unit and they were stored behind the front dash somewhere. Well thats what the salesman said? He said it looked like a single unit from the front but ate 6 cds and played them like a changer. It was not April the 1st but then again? Quote
Guest EVSS Posted December 11, 2003 Report Posted December 11, 2003 thats a 6006e slightly larger slot but basically looks like a 6000 on steroids. gary Quote
Guest siroccoman Posted December 11, 2003 Report Posted December 11, 2003 Quite true, 6006e (actually now replaced with a Sony unit in latest models) is the 'indash' cd multichanger, BUT, if you have that, you CANNOT have the factory fit Satnav unit  . Quote
Dally Posted December 11, 2003 Report Posted December 11, 2003 sirocoman, I have factory fit sat nav with factory six disc changer too. It is possible. With regards to your query on the dvd thru the front screen, you can buy a module that plugs into the back of the sat nav unit and gives you a composite video and L&R audio inputs. Once connected, you activate the option in your menu. I have read some posts on this forum by several people on this issue but jakey seems to be the fountain of knowledge on this. I can obtainthe device for about Quote
jukka Posted December 11, 2003 Report Posted December 11, 2003 Hi, in Germany you can get at least two video+audio adapters around Quote
