smoggy7 Posted February 18, 2007 Author Report Posted February 18, 2007 hi guys ok i have resolved it for now the light was flashing so while i depressed the brake i pulled out the plunger let go and the flashing stopped, so i think it is the brake switch that maybe at fault here, i got to be honest but how the hell does this switch come out? many thanks guys smoggy7 Quote
smoggy7 Posted February 18, 2007 Author Report Posted February 18, 2007 hi guys, now the light has stopped flashing will this now have to be reset ,does it register in the memory or not? or does the new switch when fitted reset it thanks smoggy Quote
big_kev Posted February 19, 2007 Report Posted February 19, 2007 The flashing glow plug light indicated a fault in the Electronic Control Circuits.........part of which is the switch on the brake pedal. If this goes faulty the electronics think you are driving with your foot on the brake and gets upset. Fixing the faulty switch will restore the electronic control circuit...hence if it has stopped flashing it will now be ok.Sometimes takes a few miles of driving for the electronics to adapt to the new switch position. I assume when you say it has stopped flashing that it has gone off and is not lit up solid ? Quote
NikpV Posted February 19, 2007 Report Posted February 19, 2007 i got to be honest but how the hell does this switch come out? look in the faq (click on th link in my signature) there are some 'hints for replacement there) elctronics doesn't need resetting Quote
smoggy7 Posted February 19, 2007 Author Report Posted February 19, 2007 hi nik, i havent changed the break switch as yet all i done was reset the plunger just to check if the flashing light would go and it did so i suppose it must be this fault with the switch that caused it to flash, since resetting the plunger the light has now stopped flashing and is now solid when i turn on the ignitionand goes out when ready, i will change the switch anyway just to be safe as i think that is causing the glow light to flash as when i touched the plunger it stopped flashing and that was the only thing i touched first so fingers crossed when the new switch is put in that that will cure it thanks for that mate smoggy Quote
