The old gal went in for her MOT this week.

 

Failed on crack in Catilytic Convertor ( dont know why it needs one on a diesel )........this looks expensive !

 

Failed on excess play in nearside Track Rod end........bummer !

Can you not replace the Cat with a normal pipe? as you say its not a requirement for a cat on a diesel

 

still need a track rod though, Not too expensive

Cat not required for an mot as long as it passes the emissions test, or so i have just read on net.

If the cat is only cracked and not damaged any other way a good welder should sort that for a few pounds and the track rod end should only be about a tenner

I'll swap you bills!

 

My wife's Galaxy just went through the MOT. 4 new tyres, front discs and pads, 1 brake pipe and a wiper, add to that the MOT fee and the garage labour and that's nearly
