Gteuk Posted February 17, 2007 Report Posted February 17, 2007 There has been a few errors lurking since the last upgrade so I am trying to go through them bit by bit, if there are any that you know of please let me know. I have so far tackled easy things, Fixed the arcade in Mumof4 Special skinFixed some arecade bugs in the default skinAdded a new fault free (I think) Skin - Red ford siteFixed a few layout issues, if you didn't look for them you wouldn't notice themFixed members viewing forum and topic I will look into making the toggle bar in reply to topic appear in the right place, this will be hard as I cannot reproduce the error. Dave-G Posted February 17, 2007 Report Posted February 17, 2007 How can I paste an exact copy of what I see on my screen Glen? The side toggle jumps abve my reply panel as it's too wide to fit alongside it Quote
Gteuk Posted February 17, 2007 Author Report Posted February 17, 2007 can you try the red skin, goto bottom of this page and change where it says IPB Default 2.1 to Red ford skin, and let me know if it happens there to Quote
Dave-G Posted February 17, 2007 Report Posted February 17, 2007 Yup - still there Glen. It's like one of the windows is too wide...Erm or my screen is narrower than yours hmm you aint got a widescreen have you? Quote
Dave-G Posted February 17, 2007 Report Posted February 17, 2007 I'll ring a friend to see if he can talk me through posting what I see Quote
Ivor_E_Tower Posted February 17, 2007 Report Posted February 17, 2007 I tried the red skin and....... make your own humorous reply up that involves either tomatoes or cowboys and indians.... On another note, please remove the spurious apostrophe that has crept into the "Auto's" heading. Marks and Spencer got taken to task for the same crime just before last Christmas...... Quote
Gteuk Posted February 17, 2007 Author Report Posted February 17, 2007 I know what you see it is finding the error in the javascript that is not so easy, it will be a missing % or comma or somthing silly like that, but there is a lot of code to go through, especially if it is not a skin error Quote
Dave-G Posted February 17, 2007 Report Posted February 17, 2007 Apparently I need a special screenshot program. I tried a photo but that dont produce a usefull image Quote
Gteuk Posted February 17, 2007 Author Report Posted February 17, 2007 PRt Sct--------Sys RQ Button on top right hand of keyboard will capture your screen, then open paint or better still your favourite image program and file, new then edit past then save it as a JPG file and upload Quote
Gteuk Posted February 17, 2007 Author Report Posted February 17, 2007 What happens when you press this button during the post screen ?? Quote
Dave-G Posted February 17, 2007 Report Posted February 17, 2007 Print screen button dont seem to do anything - that button with two arrows makes the reply window go narrower - but not quite narrow enough for them to fit alongside each other Glen. Quote
Gteuk Posted February 17, 2007 Author Report Posted February 17, 2007 Print screen button dont seem to do anything It does not tell you it has done anything but it saves your screen to the clipboard ready for you to paste it,, Try pressing the arrow up next to the button above ? Quote
Gteuk Posted February 17, 2007 Author Report Posted February 17, 2007 Go to the post section now, press CTRL and F5 at the same time to force a cache refresh on the page See what that does Quote
Dave-G Posted February 17, 2007 Report Posted February 17, 2007 this is with that button on the other mode Quote
Dave-G Posted February 17, 2007 Report Posted February 17, 2007 Screen flickered for a bit - green "progress" squares went up the scale - page remains the same as last photo Quote
Dave-G Posted February 17, 2007 Report Posted February 17, 2007 my display settings are 1024 x 768 - as set by my comp guru if it helps Quote
Gteuk Posted February 17, 2007 Author Report Posted February 17, 2007 Not the Ideal but try the stuff I said from the begining, dont need to post screen shots though. I have cheated on some of the code so one of the settings should work :) Well I hope Quote
Dave-G Posted February 17, 2007 Report Posted February 17, 2007 tried the arrow up button - just makes the reply window taller. No worries glen. Quote
Gteuk Posted February 17, 2007 Author Report Posted February 17, 2007 Try the arrow down, I have set the Column width in standard mod to 60 from 80 so this should cure some of it so get the text box small as possible and press CTRL and F5 if that does not work Click the toggle button and again press CTRL and F5 All the stuff in the side panels are available as drop down menus on the top though Quote
Dave-G Posted February 17, 2007 Report Posted February 17, 2007 No difference but all the other forums i'm on are full screen width - this one has about 45mm~50mm of blank screen each side ? Quote
mumof4 Posted February 17, 2007 Report Posted February 17, 2007 Looks ok to me..i have no gaps on either side.. Quote
Dave-G Posted February 17, 2007 Report Posted February 17, 2007 (edited) The gaps are just like in my photo's - but I only get that on this forum - I'm on quite a few others without the "borders", could get a screen shot of them to show the difference if it helps? Done now Edited February 17, 2007 by Dave-G Quote
