Hi can anyone please advise me on a problem i have got with a v6 Galaxy,I can get the vehicle to tick over but as soon as i press the accelerator the vehicle coughs and splutters if i keep pushing the accelerator up and down it eventually revs up but sometimes and sometimes it just back fires through the inlet manifold popping and back firing. I have noticed the front part of the exhaust is blowing a little and the cat stinks,I have plugged my obd cable in and all this has told me is i have got a dodgy temperature sender but the temperature guage works ok.Any advice will be most appreciated Many Thanks Adrian.

I was under the impression that there were two temperature senors - maybe the error refers to the one not feeding the gauge - if so it is probably feeding duff info to the ecuand so getting the mixture wrong

ps its late so my memory may be failing me here :o

have a look at your main air intake hose and around that area. the main hose has been known to come off the throttle body. the engine will run ok on 5 so don't think it would be a plug or lead. a coilpack failure would also produce those symptoms.

don't run it too long as it is, it sounds like you are frying the CAT

the other temp sensor will control the fans
