DaveJH Posted February 15, 2007 Report Posted February 15, 2007 I have convertor mask template for MK II non-zenon headlights. Previous posts had suggested using clip on plastic protectors plus convertors - my preferred option if available. I enquired at my local Ford dealers today- their Parts Dept claimed that Ford no longer supply protectors as the headlight lenses are plastic anyway. My query is whether this is correct position - if not, can some friendly member please provide a Ford part number. (VW certainly still sell protectors, but VW headlights are a different shape). Thanks in advance for any advice DaveJH Quote
Ivor_E_Tower Posted February 17, 2007 Report Posted February 17, 2007 I've never seen or come across any protectors for the Mk II; the reason usually given for non-availability is that the lenses are plastic, not glass, and therefore almost impossible to break by flying stones etc Quote
andymet Posted February 18, 2007 Report Posted February 18, 2007 HiI bought a set a few weeks ago from my local Ford Dealer Sandicliffe at Loughborough for my 2003 Mk2. They are not ford ones but are made by an Austrailian company and cost about Quote
TinTentTourist Posted March 12, 2007 Report Posted March 12, 2007 My 2003 Gal 1.9 Ghia came with plastic headlight covers on it, I don't know if they were on from new, it was 18m old when I got it. When I washed the car last week I found the OS one missing. Can I ask, are the Ford parts, and if not are they available elsewhere? Do the ones mentioned come with the little clips..... As Andymet says, the little markings are ideal for dirving abroad! Quote
DaveJH Posted March 14, 2007 Author Report Posted March 14, 2007 Andymet Thanks for your reply. I shall contact Sandicliff and pick up a set when I am next in Loughborough Regards DaveJH Quote
