whitty Posted February 12, 2007 Report Posted February 12, 2007 ok as you see by sig i have 52 ghia 1.9td all 7 headrests have holes in the centre and she who must be obeyed is hankering for screens for the kids obviously i can go for a roof mount screen but i think that it looks better if they are mounted in the back of the front to headrests but.....i have headrests with holes i have seen some models with solid/no holes anyone know if this was an dealer option or headrests from different model? i have the dark grey cloth trim in mine so if anyone has holeless headrests that match my interior for sale then drop me a line if not i may have to setlle for roof mount screen whitty Quote
NikpV Posted February 12, 2007 Report Posted February 12, 2007 mk1 and early mk2 had holeless headrests - if you have more than 2 kids I reckon the roof mounted one (or two- one for 3rd row) is the way to go middle kid is having trouble seeing the headreast mounted ones. Quote
whitty Posted February 12, 2007 Author Report Posted February 12, 2007 i can see where you are coming from with that but my worry is once you have the roof mounts on and down all i'll be able to see in the rear view mirror is the back of the screen ! p.s does anyone know if it's ok to put a baby seat in the middle of second row on the roof mounted seatbelt? would be nice if it was ok coc smallest one complains least !! By the time we have the car loaded up with bikes, buggies, MIL etc I only use the mirrors on the doors anyway p.s does anyone know if it's ok to put a baby seat in the middle of second row on the roof mounted seatbelt? would be nice if it was ok coc smallest one complains least !! yes you have the 3 point belt We have the child seats in all positions iin the middle row with baby in the middle one - trouble is at 15 months he is the trouble maker if there is nothing going on he starts it -ear pulling hair pulling juice dribbling etc :) :D ps can you shirink the width of your image in your signature so it doesn't stretch the column tia Quote
Smilge Posted February 12, 2007 Report Posted February 12, 2007 Whitty ..... I have what they call the Journey pack 2 fitted to mine ...... SAT/NAV with a Multi Function display and the two front headrests are solid with DVD screens fitted. The DVD player is fitted to a different console between the two front seats with an A/V module just above it. This allows you to plug up to four headphones in and also the opportunity to input a games console so the kids can either play on the playstation on one screen or watch a DVD on the other. Now if you're really clever you can buy an adapter that allows you to watch a DVD on the Multi function display in the front. My daughter sits in the middle seat using a booster and the useful thing is the 3 point belt that you can unbuckle from both sides which makes it easier to get her out in an emergency. Quote
teresa Posted February 12, 2007 Report Posted February 12, 2007 mk 1 with holes in headrests mine are not holey....... mine are solid Quote
adrianf. Posted February 12, 2007 Report Posted February 12, 2007 I just use the ones that you strap to the head rests.I also keep a set of water proof seat covers on all the time cos of my job and they are ideal for keeping them out of sight.I am planning to put the player in the centre dashboard box one day but god knows when that will be.Not as neat as the ones fitted IN the headrests but it keeps the kiddies happy so thats good enough for me. whitty Posted February 12, 2007 Author Report Posted February 12, 2007 not a cat in hells chance of me using strap on screens im sorry but having spent all this money on the galaxy i don't want to make a mess of it id much rathe it was all done properly @ the moment i have pioneer mp3 player wit aux input that the ipod goes on so i will have to loose the ipod to gain my aux in for the screens so sound side of things half sorted if i want it coming through the galaxy's original speakers i think i will do headphones i'm not a fan of listening to thomas the tank and friends while i drive ! so what head phones have people found best? so basically i have got to sort what looks like a pair of screens 2 set's of headphone's i'll remove the genuine changer and put the ps2 in that slot with the power invertor for it and a pair of wire free controllers for ps2 sorry didn't realise old pic would cause so much problems no one complained before, changed it now hope that solves any issues Quote
