Dave-G Posted February 7, 2007 Report Posted February 7, 2007 I've not got adobe reader on this PC - so cant read the service schedule... I guess it's the 105km one? - thought we'd be able to get them in miles? Anyway - I dont think the fuel filter is a 70k replacement item? Quote
littledaz Posted February 7, 2007 Report Posted February 7, 2007 Sorry, Maz forget the bonnet warning, mine doesn't have it either. I still think you have bought a pressure sensor not a level sensor. Do you know if you have sensor at the bottom of your sump, held in by 3 bolts? Quote
mumof4 Posted February 7, 2007 Author Report Posted February 7, 2007 yes..pressure one i have....oil press switch...need a level one? i have no idea..what does it look like? Quote
Guest nedunderthecaragain Posted February 7, 2007 Report Posted February 7, 2007 hi mum of four you dont have to go to far to find some help here just have a look around the play ground and you will probably be able to find some free advise from, an owner of a simular galaxy (04 tdi ghia) as we often chat any way see you soon ned Quote
mumof4 Posted February 7, 2007 Author Report Posted February 7, 2007 woohooo!!..you finally did it!!..welcome to the club :( How the Aux doing? Quote
littledaz Posted February 7, 2007 Report Posted February 7, 2007 what does it look like? Sorry Maz, disappeared for a bit, just come back from kid's school open evening. This is what a level sensor looks like. I have seen it mentioned on a TIS CD so I am sure is fitted on your Gal. Obviously the sticky-up but is inside the sump. If you remove your engine undertray, you should see it fitted to the bottom of the sump. I know you've run the Gal today but, I have known some cars take a couple of days for the light to go out after topup. If your level is OK & your oil pressure warning light is not on, I wouldn't worry too much. Daz Quote
mumof4 Posted February 7, 2007 Author Report Posted February 7, 2007 what i have dont look like that.....what i got today i mean Quote
littledaz Posted February 7, 2007 Report Posted February 7, 2007 What you've got looks something like this? Your electrical terminal will possibly be shrouded. Quote
mumof4 Posted February 7, 2007 Author Report Posted February 7, 2007 yup..thats what i got today.. Quote
mumof4 Posted February 8, 2007 Author Report Posted February 8, 2007 Check oil level is still on.as is the little oil can warning. what now? should i change the pressure switch? or should i get a level one that you showed me littledaz? Quote
Guest wolfie Posted February 8, 2007 Report Posted February 8, 2007 whats the oil level on the dip stick say? low? you said it was leaking oil the other night! has it stopped now? or is it still leaking? Quote
mumof4 Posted February 8, 2007 Author Report Posted February 8, 2007 Oil level on dipstick says just above MAX..I checked it this morning.. No more oil leak that i can see... Quote
littledaz Posted February 8, 2007 Report Posted February 8, 2007 should i get a level one that you showed me littledaz I can't see the switch/sender you have bought fixing your issue, Maz. I am going to get my Galaxy on a ramp before I leave work just for my own piece of mind that the info I am telling you is accurate. I am sure it is. As your level is OK, I wouldn't worry too much. I'll come back to you later and let you know, unless someone confirms this in the meantime. Daz Quote
mumof4 Posted February 8, 2007 Author Report Posted February 8, 2007 Ok..thanks for that..its just that what gets me is that last time the oil press warning came on..i topped it up after checking it and the level was low...but after topping up the oilcan light went off...but it hasnt this time...but it was a diff warning..oil level Quote
littledaz Posted February 8, 2007 Report Posted February 8, 2007 Maz (& Bleeno), my apologies. I have just pulled the undertray off my Galaxy, no level sender in sump!!! I am surprised at the level warning if it has no sensor, the TIS CD does show reference to one?? I can only assume it sees a marginal drop in pressure which is why it gives the level warning rather than pressure. Go ahead Maz and replace the sensor you have bought. You learn something new everyday  Daz Quote
mumof4 Posted February 8, 2007 Author Report Posted February 8, 2007 Ok..i shall do it tomorrow morning... thanks for looking. Quote

mumof4 Posted February 9, 2007 Author Report Posted February 9, 2007 Old sensor in situ..Old sensor taken out and new one in..(yes i cheated as i couldnt get the bloody thing off)new sensor in situ...Voila!!..oil can and warning still on!!!!!!!!!oh and i managed to drop the rubber ring off this into the engine bay and i cant see it anywhere.. Soooo......what next.......Keith didnt charge a penny for his work and will be ringing Frauds later to see if they have any idea.. Quote
littledaz Posted February 9, 2007 Report Posted February 9, 2007 I know I keep harping on about a level sensor. As mine is a 130 and yours a 115, there is a remote possibility that yours has the level sensor in the sump, as I said earlier mine doesn't. Are you able to remove your undertray (6 x 10mm bolts IIRC) and see if your sump has this sensor? I really can't be sure without you checking or somebody else confirming. You might find your missing grommet at the same time ;) Quote
Smilge Posted February 9, 2007 Report Posted February 9, 2007 Daz .... if there isnt a level sensor, its not a latched fault that has to be cleared using VAG-COM is it m8? Quote
mumof4 Posted February 9, 2007 Author Report Posted February 9, 2007 mmm..i will have to remove the undertray...but all i have to jack the car up with is the one you get with the car and it is piddling it down outside at the mo...unless someone else can confirm?..i will do what i can this aft as i am short of time this morn as i have a school run to do in half an hour.
