Fuel Reading,needle Guage Or Electronic

I have a 2.5 mk11 ghia x.

 

Both petrol guages go down nicely until about 60 miles left, then the digital guage tends to go up ? and the manual guage decreases to a stage where the petrol light comes on. Yet the digital still reads over 50 miles.

 

Is something wrong or is there a simple fix ?
