jonny Posted February 3, 2007 Report Posted February 3, 2007 I have a 2002 2.3 Zetec, which I have owned for about 2 weeks. The pasenger side electric window doesn't work from the passenger switch, but does from the drivers side. Is this likely to be the switch, or just a fuse? Has anyone had anything similar? I've also got problems with the parking sensors, they just beep continually and the light flashes. I have read the other posts so I have checked the control box and the unit is dry, and I can get a clicking noise if I run my finger over the sensors. I've had a similar problem on a 3 series BMW, but that was fixed under warranty so I've got no idea how is was sorted. Any help would be really appreciated.... Quote

Any help would be really appreciated.... this is a common fault - it is usually the wires breaking down in te rubber boots between the door and frame - click on the link to the faq in my signature and there are a couple of references to it there welcome to the forum we are really very friendly - don't upset maz though http://www.fordgalaxy.org.uk/ford/uploads/monthly_02_2007/post-555-1170444319.gifhttp://www.fordgalaxy.org.uk/ford/uploads/monthly_02_2007/post-555-1170444319.gifhttp://www.fordgalaxy.org.uk/ford/uploads/monthly_02_2007/post-555-1170444319.gif shes the one with http://www.fordgalaxy.org.uk/ford/uploads/monthly_01_2007/post-555-1169810246.gif Generally please be aware that the way the forum is set up means that you can reply to posts anywhere, but only start topics in new member introductions and trainee help - if its a technical topic it will be moved to the relevant section. You will not be able to see pictures in threads yet either - if you click on 'options' on the top right of a topic and select 'download topic', open - you will be able to see the images. When you get to 30 posts then these restrictions will be lifted. Hope this helps (Often useful to have your car details in your signature - you wont be able to do that until 30 posts but a mod can put them in for you until you can edit yourself - let us know by posting here ) Quote
Guest MATT jr Posted February 4, 2007 Report Posted February 4, 2007 welcome to the forum, where abouts are you jonny? MJR Quote
jonny Posted February 6, 2007 Author Report Posted February 6, 2007 Thanks for that I'll give it a go this weekend..... Any ideas on the parking sensors? Thanks for the welcome, I'm in Stockport, near Manchester. Quote
Guest MATT jr Posted February 6, 2007 Report Posted February 6, 2007 well, usually, its due to the unit getting wet - usually because of a well placed rear washer pipe/joint. but if this is not the case, as said in your 1st post, then its another problem, that vagcom might be able to pick up. the problem might be a faulty sensor - or wiring, or indeed a faulty unit! jonny Posted February 14, 2007 Author Report Posted February 14, 2007 Well it looks like I was a bit optomistic about the parking sensor unit being dry, Just felt it again after checking why the rear wash doesn't work and it feels very damp, either that or it was from the mother in law dropping a can of coke in the back! Do I need to buy a new unit, how much are they? I've had a feel around and cannot seem to find the pipe for the washer pipe near the sensor unit, I am looking in the right place? Quote
NikpV Posted February 14, 2007 Report Posted February 14, 2007 the pipe is in the channel that runs at the bottom ofthe door sill see this post (in the faq) its got some pictures (the number of posts required to see pictures in the thread appears to now be 5) but you can still use the download trick - see my post above Quote
jonny Posted February 15, 2007 Author Report Posted February 15, 2007 Good news is the Rear Washer is now working..... However the floor is absolutely soaked, so the parking sensors must be completely goosed! Still no progress on the passenger window though, and the drivers side one touch up has given up the ghost, although this seems to work again in the wet, almost as if the window seal is making it stick....
