Guest mcyoungy Posted February 2, 2007 Report Posted February 2, 2007 I have an 02 LX. The handbook is, of course, generic and therefore doesn't tell me what should be fitted to my car. Should I have a washer reservoir level warning light? If I should, where is the sensor? Is the circuit fused separately, or fed from the instrument cluster? If I shouldn't have one, it's not something else that's broken - just not there!!!! Quote

littledaz Posted February 3, 2007 Report Posted February 3, 2007 Not sure if the sensor is fitted as standard. If you do intend to find out, the sensor is fitted in the reservoir and can possibly seen if you look through your front bumper grille or if you remove your N/S/F foglamp. Quote
Guest mcyoungy Posted February 3, 2007 Report Posted February 3, 2007 "foglamp"....lol....it's an LX!!!!!!!!! Thanks littledaz - just what I needed. I think I'll be leaving it today as it's still -1 outside. Much appreciated. Quote
Guest mcyoungy Posted February 3, 2007 Report Posted February 3, 2007 Well the temperature came up to 5 degrees so I ventured out. Removed the trim cover where the NSF foglamp would live on a proper car. No sensor fitted. Not even a hole for it. How cheap and nasty is this thing? Thanks for the diagram littledaz. Am I right in thinking that the rearward pump has a front/rear solenoid valve? And the pump shown towards the front of the tank is for the headlamp washers? Quote
littledaz Posted February 3, 2007 Report Posted February 3, 2007 Am I right in thinking that the rearward pump has a front/rear solenoid valve? sort of. For front washers the pump will run normally and for rear washers the pump will be given a reversed polarity voltage to make it pump the other way. The valve is there to stop fluid being drawn back through the opposing pipe. Yes, the pump shown with no pipe connected will be headlamp washers due to its larger pipe connection. Quote

Guest mcyoungy Posted February 3, 2007 Report Posted February 3, 2007 Thanks wolfie. Most odd - I have the door ajar thing, low fuel, bulb failure monitor but don't seem to have low ambient warning, low washer fluid level or service due. Quote
