Hi Gang,

Is it true that the tow ball weight limit on the new gal is only 75kg?If so would have the self levelling suspentsion compensate for this low tow ball weight?I struggle a wee bit to get it around 80 kg just now

yep 75kg nose weight according to the booklet! and the max tow weight is down and the kurb weight is up on the earlier models !http://www.seatcupra.net/forums/images/smilies/wtf.gif OH! the joys of fold flat seating ;)

Hi purplemadboy ..... need to struggle some more then mate ...... I had to do the same and you can get it down to 50Kg if you set the rig up correctly. I tend to remove the spare wheel and gas bottles from the front storage box and stick them over the axle area.

Hi,Dont you think 50kg is a wee bit light?I have my spare wheel under van just behind the axle and 2, 4.5kg gas bottles in the locker.

No the self levelling set up will NOT make up for the nose weight. The nose weight limit is set for the fixings of the tow bar. It wont fall off if you go slightly over the 75kg limit but it will invalidate your insurance should you have an accident. I always used to set our van up (1993 Elddis wisp 510 cd) with 70kg nose weight on our Vectra and it towed lovely. Havent towed with the Galaxy yet, we`ve got that to look forward to next week!
