Vagcom For Ford Engined Cars

Will VAGCOM be able to read anything if connected to Galaxies with the 2.3 or 2.0 Fraud engines? If not is there a Fraud equivalent OBDII software that can be used?

 

Have tried searching for a definitive answer, but 250 threads about VAGCOM will take a while!

I use a generic code reader which will return the values and then I use the internet to search for the strings and it seems to be fairly reliable method.

 

VAGCOM will only return known VAG code lists anything else will be blank.

Thanks for the link Matt - looks good! Do you know whether the OBDII USB cable that you got off ebay has an ELM chipset (ELM320, 322, 323 or 327)???

well, iv just looked at the lead, autonostics.com, and ebay - and i cannot see "ELM chipset" on anything with the lead that i got - it only mentions Audi/VW/skoda.

 

so at a guess, the answer is no lol

There is an OBD-II Functions module in VAG-COM which may be able to read the engine codes for the Ford engined cars. It would be worth a try if you know someone with VAG-COM.
