Guest J.. Posted January 31, 2007 Report Posted January 31, 2007 hello there, great forum here, i have got lots of great info just by browsing some of the topics,i have just bought a 2.0 ltr 1995 glx, I know its old but just the job!.does have a few problems though, the electric windows dont work, no central locking and the interior lights dont come on when the (any) doors are open yet all the bulbs are ok. cant help but think that these are all related, i have checked all the fuses and they are ok as is that little control unit under the passenger seat, i bought a Haynes manual and read the wiring diagrams but it shows a set of fuses that are not beside the other fuses 1 to 34 the numbers in the Haynes manual are F51 to 62 and show that they are beside the relays.help me please as this is driving me mad cant have a fag out the window!!! Guest wolfie Posted January 31, 2007 Report Posted January 31, 2007 sounds like the central locking+ ecu under the front passenger seat is dead! hit the searc enging for loads of posts on this unit and what kills/drowns it :) Quote
Guest J.. Posted January 31, 2007 Report Posted January 31, 2007 been looking through some of them most common thing seems to be moisture but there is no signs of moisture, is there anyway of esting the unit and would it effect the windows and interior lights Quote
Guest wolfie Posted January 31, 2007 Report Posted January 31, 2007 yep it would as unit controls central locking and IIRC it also contains timer unit for for interior lights? Quote
Guest Cepheus Posted February 1, 2007 Report Posted February 1, 2007 Welcome J - concur with Wolfie - does sound like the control module under the passenger seat that's gone. Could have had a water ingress problem in the past which has knackered it. Unfortunately I'm in work and don't have access to TIS to give you the test procedures for the control module - I'm sure someone else will be along shortly who can ;) Paul Quote
