Guest wolfie Posted January 24, 2007 Report Posted January 24, 2007 mmm not the first time the history of your cars been questioned is it? Ford would get the spec via the info on the dvlc comp from when the car was originally registered, have you tried seeing what spec/model the parts list brings up if you search by the VIN number? Guest wolfie Posted January 24, 2007 Report Posted January 24, 2007 is there anyway i can check this without having to pay???? at the dealers? just make enquiries at the parts desk, the guy behind the counter should be able to tell you what model/spec it is using the VIN as a guide! or make enquiries for a part that's specific to the Si using the VIN as a search parameter?or check the numbers on the vin plate against a known Si model and see what matches? teresa Posted January 24, 2007 Author Report Posted January 24, 2007 well im going into pick up my speaker covers tomorrow so i will get them to check i know i have spoken to the dvla before and they said it could of been a typing error but i would have to pay to get it checked out and changed over Quote
teresa Posted January 25, 2007 Author Report Posted January 25, 2007 ok been to fords today checked the vin comes up as glx he had a look at my gal checked everything over said yes si interior after an hr there looks like we have found out what has happened yes my car has all the si refinements and yes it is registered as a glx it looks like it was registered as a glx because of the year it was registered si.s were 98 mine was october 99 looks like it was left for a yr without being registered ....so have i got a rare car lol Quote
Guest Cepheus Posted January 25, 2007 Report Posted January 25, 2007 IIRC GLX's weren't about in Oct 99 any more than Si models were - March 99, LX and Zetec took over from Aspen and GLX models. The plot thickens ....... Quote
