I have a 2002 90 bhp TDi.

Is this a PD? (I think it is)

Would it be an ANU?

Where is the code found on the engine?

TIA

Yes, the 2002 90PS TDI is a PD engine, and the engine code is ANU. This code should form part of the engine number, which you can find on the engine block or in the front of your service booklet.

Thanks Tim. I was convinced it was, but a work colleague "expert" was adamant that the "smallest" PD was 100bhp.

Any idea what the differences are between the 90 and 115? How the extra power is gained?

For certain, on the 115PS version, there will be a different ECU, higher performance turbo, different injectors, improved piston cooling and an uprated cooling system. It is also likely that the cylinder head porting and other internal changes will have been made.

However, in our relatively temperate climate, it may be possible to chip tune a 90PS up to 115PS or more without too much of a risk.

hi all

have been told that if you chip your car and dont tell

insurers,if you have a accident (god forbid)

they could trace the chip in ecu and insurance claim

will be thrown out! (but dont quote me on this)

would probably go for a remap

untraceable

Well yes as it would be an undeclared modification your insurance could be invalid.
