Hi,

Anyone have a problem with vibrating door speakers? Seems if I turn the music up I get this corresponding thump from the door speakers. Have tried to make sure that theres no junk in the door trays etc, have adjusted the Bass but its still there.....

Cheers

No, but I changed mine a few weeks ago because of the quality of sound. You might find that they're actually loose which means you will have to removemove the inside door panels or door cards and see if the mounting screws are loose. Or, you might find the speaker cones have separated from the metal frame of the speaker itself. Pretty unlikely that all the speakers have this problem so you need to find out which ones are vibrating at all volume levels, and if all of them are, then basically you've have another problem. To be honest, if you have the money change the 4 door speakers for better ones, you'll be surprised at the difference!

Hope this helps

How long does it take to replace all 4 speakers?

I have the speakers but havent had a chance to fit them yet :)

Took me about 3 hours m8 ..... need some new yellow door clips first m8 because you will break some(Frauds - about 7 quid for 25) and there's some good threads and piccies that some good people have posted previously which helped me tremendously.

Good luck

Either OPs speakers are goosed or he's listening to some mashed-up hardcore drum&bass thats too much to handle for his papier mache OE speakers. :)

As Bleeno said, changing them is the best thing to do, the difference is amazing.

If you have a MK1 then my post on the subject is HERE to help.

A good thread HERE on removal of door cards on the MK2 also

LMAO...join the big boys and through throw in a subwoofa!

i was shocked to see such crap speakers had been fitted at the factory - and new sony ones did improve the sound! just dont expect it to suddenly turn into a theater - just by changing the speakers.

hey Matt ...so how do i fit one of these sub woofers with a built in amp that you can buy from Halfords mate. Just want a bit more bass punch when the Motorsnakes playing without scaring the kids.

Thanks for the reminder! just remembered mine is still stashed under the bed awaiting fitting!

as for fitting? depends some units can accept an input signal via the OE head units speaker output cables! or just by a set of pre amp outputs, the one I have does both! when or if I ever get around to fitting it? I have the choice of inputs  depending on which method is easiest?

Yea was thinking of using the speaker output cables m8, but, the problem with doing that that is that you have to match the output impedance of the amp with the speaker impedance, so by adding another speaker you are in effect reducing the impedance and risk blowing the amp. In your case I would use the pre-amp output but I have the oem sat nav head unit and dont know whether mine has one.... perhaps you can advise me please?
