Guest bezzer Posted December 1, 2003 Report Posted December 1, 2003 Hi all, Both the front seat armrests are quite wobbly on my Galaxy when they are folded down. There is a cap on the side where they swivel on the seat. Is it possible to remove this cap and tighten the bolt/screw that attatchs it to the seat ? All advice greatly appreciated. Quote
Guest Paul L Posted December 1, 2003 Report Posted December 1, 2003 Bezzer, I had the same with my Gal. I removed the screws completely, applied some threadlock and replaced. Not had a problem since. They're Torx type screws but can't remember what size and the bores in the arm rest are quite deep so you'll need an extended socket rather than a standard one. A dead simple fix. Should take you all of 10 minutes! Regards Paul Quote
Dave-G Posted December 1, 2003 Report Posted December 1, 2003 Tighten them up with a T40 torx tool. they're available in "allen key shapes", so you'll get deep into the socket. just pull the cap off. Quote
iainkirk Posted December 5, 2003 Report Posted December 5, 2003 Used to have that problem in my original Gal. A long handled largish flat screwdricer will also do the job, if a suitable Torx isn't handy. Once they've gone wobbly, they keep doing it tho. Quote
Guest SA Intruder Posted December 5, 2003 Report Posted December 5, 2003 Use a small amount of Loctite 222 on the threads. Quote
Guest Colin Posted December 9, 2003 Report Posted December 9, 2003 I had the same problem, and took the bolt out to add some locktight, but found that the retaining nut had come free, and was unable to refit. I had to resort to using some blue tack to hold nut whilst I refitted, so beware of undong the bolt completly Quote
