jackthehat.co.uk Posted January 14, 2007 Report Posted January 14, 2007 Who the hell decided to put the cup holders right above the radio and climate control unit? Every drop of coffee (or baby milk in our case) you spill goes straight onto the buttins and takes a full afternoon to clean properly. I've already dismantled the entire climate control panel just after I bought the car because half of the buttons were stuck solid. While I'm on the subject of climate control.... it's far too low down on the fascia. The gear stick gets in the way when you try to adjust settings. The unit should go where the cup holders are and vice versa. Common sense if you ask me. Quote
Guest gooner52 Posted January 14, 2007 Report Posted January 14, 2007 even though the galaxy has cup holders, you are not ment to use them Quote

tim-spam Posted January 22, 2007 Report Posted January 22, 2007 Except that neither the Alhambra nor the Sharan have that 'dumb clock in the middle'. Quote
Guest gooner52 Posted January 22, 2007 Report Posted January 22, 2007 glad i didnt buy one then as i love the clock in the middel Quote
adrianf. Posted January 22, 2007 Report Posted January 22, 2007 Me also. Nice position in the middle of the dash. Not so sure about the climate controls tho. They could have done with being a bit higher Quote
tim-spam Posted January 22, 2007 Report Posted January 22, 2007 It wasn't me who called it 'dumb' - I was merely quoting someone else. However, I don't think I would let 'dumb clock in the middle' or not affect my choice of car very much. Quote
Guest gooner52 Posted January 22, 2007 Report Posted January 22, 2007 one of the first things i like about my first mk2 y plate was this way out,way back anolog clock love it Quote
springen Posted January 29, 2007 Report Posted January 29, 2007 (edited) I thought the reasoning behind the positioning of the cup holders was so that in the summer you direct COLD air-con air from the centre vents at them to keep your drink cold. Presumably you could direct HOT air at them to keep your coffee warm in the winter !!?? Edited January 29, 2007 by springen Quote
Guest mcyoungy Posted January 30, 2007 Report Posted January 30, 2007 Assuming that your air con and heater both work!!!!!! Quote
Scorpiorefugee Posted February 25, 2007 Report Posted February 25, 2007 And on the subject of that air conditioning panel, why couldn't they have simply used 4 rotary controls instead of all of those $ Quote

Ivor_E_Tower Posted March 14, 2007 Report Posted March 14, 2007 The climate control buttons may be small and almost hidden being so low down, but basically I never touch them. Once you set the temperature you require (should be able to work that out within a few weeks of driving the car), it's "fit and forget". Mine is left on Auto and 20 deg C except when I have to de-ice or de-mist the front screen, and with heated glass that takes mere minutes, after which I just hit the "auto" button again. Cup holder location...you think you have problems in the Gal.......in the first-shape Ford Focus, Ford initially intended to mount the cupholder just above the inertia switch fuel cut-off. In the event of spillage of liquids, the car would have stopped dead. Fortunately they were persuaded to relocate the switch. Car designers may be clever people, but some of them don't possess much intelligence Quote

WHY IS THERE NO ASHTRAYS ON THE RIGHT HAND SIDE!!!!!!! No problem if you are driving a car on the continent, left hand drive ashtray on the right.easy. UK right hand drive no ashtray on the right hand side??? Surley the designers can slide a small ashtray on the right hand side somewhere. Regards HENRYGB Quote
