littledaz Posted January 11, 2007 Report Posted January 11, 2007 First of all, hello to you all. I have been an avid viewer of the forums since buying my Galaxy in May 2006. I decided yesterday that it was time to join you and contribute where necessary. I would like to reply to the posts by 'snikkers' & 'jackthehat.co.uk' with reference to their alternator issues but, I am unable to. I am a Master Technician at my local Audi Dealership and as most of you are probably aware, the 1.9 tdi engine is shared with the VW group. The A4, A3 and A6 use the same engine and obviously shares its components. I have come across the alternator/belt squeal issue many times and have rectified it successfully. I have tried to reply to the posts in the technical section but, I cannot get past the "You do not have permission to reply to this topic" message. Moderators, can you tell me if I am restricted from replying in the Technical section and if so, where can I post my solution so that 'snikkers' and 'jackthehat.co.uk' will see it? It seems silly that I have to submit 30 replies to posts when I can't even reply to the one's where I can probably help most. I'd hate to think that people are wasting good money on belts and tensioners when this often does not fix the squeal issue. Please help and advise, Darren. Quote
NikpV Posted January 11, 2007 Report Posted January 11, 2007 you should now be able to post/reply anywhere in the forum now - try again and post here if it doesnt work - it may be worth logging out and in again and even clearing cookies (bottom of the front page) you should also be able to reply to the pm I have sent you - the fact I could indicates your membership has been upgraded Quote
littledaz Posted January 11, 2007 Author Report Posted January 11, 2007 Hi NikpV & mumof4. Thanks for you PMs. NikpV - I don't seem to able to reply to your PM directly but, can create a new PM to you. Is this what you mean? I have been over to the technical forum and I have the ability to reply to the posts so, everything looks OK. I will be replying to 'snikkers' and 'jackthehat.co.uk' shortly but, the baby has decided she is hungry and the 5 year old needs to go to bed so, will be a little busy for a bit. Thanks again for your assistance. Darren Quote

Where abouts in the Midlands are you at and which dealership do you work for? As I won't be going back to my local Frauds for servicing after last time's fiasco, maybe Audi will do instead?!?! ;) ;) Oh ... and if you fancy a day karting with us, we'll be going sometime end of Feb, early March.Just stick your name down HERE!
