Very little inf on these, seems to me that they must have some quality

.Just out of curiosity how do we know when to change them.

For those who have made this change how many miles did yours last.

not on the Gal old bean. Only time I've ever done it was on an 84 Celica XT. That had done about 85,000 miles but don't know if they'd already been changed previously.

Your shocks are ok if when you push down on the bonet, the car should bounce up and then settle back to normal position. If it bounces around more than this then they need replacing. Also if when you brake the car lurches forwards with the nose sinking and the back end lifting, then they need replacing.

both my rear ones went we've had the Gal for 5 and a half years and its the first time we've had trouble with them the car came with reciepts for all the work and it doesn't show that the previous owner who had it from new had touched them either

aye ... A reg Black Liftback - me and a mate did practically a full rebuild of it over about 18 months. Dropped in a Jap import 2.8i engine out of a Celica Supra too. Went like stink! Then some scrote nicked it and wrote it off   loved that car  such a funky driving position - almost lying down!
