Guest gooner52 Posted January 6, 2007 Report Posted January 6, 2007 Well at the risk of upsetting some of you I am really pleased if this law is true. I am sick and tired of driving on the motorway and all of a sudden some dick head in a 3.5 tonne box van decides to change lane and try racing the ferraris around. If they can drive these things (and they can up to 7.5t GW ) then they should have passed a special test like a proper HGV. All they need to do now is sort out the Mercedes Sprinter flying boxes and I'd be ecstatic!! Yes but we can race the Ferraris as you put it and the one I have keep up with them, and yes I have a class 1.So what have you got against the sprinter ? Jealous ! Radiotwo drove a sprinter van,,hated itcos it wasnt a ford   loads of power mind you Quote
RADIOTWO Posted January 6, 2007 Report Posted January 6, 2007 drove a sprinter van,,hated itcos it wasnt a ford   loads of power mind you Hi Gooner So other than it not being a ford, what did you hate about it ? Radiotwo Quote
Guest wolfie Posted January 6, 2007 Report Posted January 6, 2007 So other than it not being a ford, what did you hate about it ? Radiotwo the lack of storage, no cup holders, poor seating position with crap adjustment, poor dash lay out! but jeez do they shift! 127+mph down the M6 at 3AM in the morning after a pulling a ghoster in Manchester, three up and enough tools in the back to rob the bank of England! but for a van that was supposedly voted van of the year at the time I found it poorly equiped and not really built for the drivers comfort in mind! big_kev Posted January 6, 2007 Report Posted January 6, 2007 yet in light of yesterdays coach tragedy Personnally I would have prosecuted the passengers for not wearing their seat belts as required to do so by law.I am serious on this before some one thinks its a joke, it not fun being a good boy and wearing your seat belt only to be headbutted at 60mph by the guy behind who wasn't. Obviously I would crucify the driver as well for driving far too fast. p.s. the driver was doing approx. 62mph according to the police well within the speed limit of 70mph..........the new Euro limit in km per hr equates to 62mph and therefore the driver would still have been within the speed limit even if Coaches were reduced to wagon speeds. p.p.s. As I have said before do not confuse driving to fast with speeding.....it is not the same thing.Try entering you driveway at 25mph well below the speed limit ( in most places 30mph...I know some are less ) and you will see the difference between driving to fast and speeding. Radiotwo If I ever need to buy a large van it will definitley be a sprinter - but apart from the very small minority of properly trained drivers ,- most sprinter drivers - in my experience - drive them like they were GTi's forgetting the sheer physical size of the things!!. Yes they are great vehicles but vastly over powered. Just restrict them to max 70mph - that'll do for me. Quote
